Dr. Shannon Franklin

When I was a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a mom and a doctor.

Fast-forward to my adult years. It was summer and I had just started working at my chiropractor's office to learn more about chiropractic. One day, an eight-year-old girl in immense pain came to the office. By the time she left the office with her mom, she was happily giggling. Her instant improvement inspired me. I loved the idea of helping to make people feel better while they're in the office, rather than simply leaving them with a written prescription that would hopefully make them better.

During my apprenticeship, I watched my chiropractor treat patients who suffered pain from car accidents, pregnancy and falls. It was in those moments of observation that I knew this was my career path. When I went back to school that next year, I felt confident in my answer to what I was going to be when I grew up; I was going to be a chiropractor.
